Protect your time and your mind

Two weeks ago, I spent about two hours writing a press release and associated materials to invite the news media to write about my company, Talentelle (www.talentelle.com).

A few days later, we got a phone call from a columnist, and a few days later, we appeared in the Gazette (www.talentelle-news.blogspot.com).

On that Saturday, 160,000 people bought the newspaper and read about us.

How did we do it?

Simple: I knew exactly what to write. I know what journalists are looking for. I tried to help them to do their job, by providing factual, newsworthy information in a concise manner.

The point is that you can go through life doing all kinds of things and yet, you might not get the results you want. Strategic knowledge is key to getting what you want.

This is exactly what I want to share with men on this portal. Our society is filled with useless, irrelevant information, from fiction books to news reports that have nothing to do with your goals. No wonder most people feel their lives are going nowhere.

This is why it's critical to critically examine the information you're getting on a daily basis. Does it empower you and help you get closer to your goals? If not, kill it. Don't let that kind of information reach you the day after. Cut off the information source, whether it's friends who don't help you reach your goals, or the familiar yet useless news reports we get every night from the tube.

It is simply impossible to become the best at what you do unless you first become ruthless about protecting your time and your mind from useless information coming at you from seemingly everywhere.

Why you are dumb, sick and broke

The book "Why You Are Dumb, Sick and Broke" (HERE) is certainly shocking. But I believe the author is fundamentally right about how society completely controls, in a gruesomely preemptive manner, our thinking patterns and behavioral habits.

In short, society keeps you poor -- intellectually, financially and spiritually.

Most men I meet are already defeated. I do not discern any combative spirit, nor any will to fight.

Fight for what? People would rather go for security and comfort. Yet security and comfort do not exist. They are illusions. If they do exist, they are like the security and comfort of animals at the zoo.

I think the best thing that can happen to a man is that he is given an opportunity to fight. Tyler Durden (played by Brad Pitt) in the movie Fight Club uttered a supreme truth about manhood: "How much can you know about yourself if you've never been in a fight?"

Want to become a millionaire?

It's very easy. Here's my secret: "For a fortune to appear in your life, YOU have to disappear."

- But Peter, if I disappear, who will make money for me?

My friend, listen carefully if you want to become rich. I'm advising you to look into the mirror, and say: "I, (state your full name), hereby acknowledge that I am not important to my clients. I wish for them to get everything they need from me without my being present."

You see, the major problem -- and why most people are poor -- is that they overvalue who they are. They overvalue their own person.

I will leave you with this cryptic, yet powerful secret: "Nobody gets rich personally. Smart people get rich mathematically -- not personally. Get yourself out of the equation, and you will become rich (finally)."

The truth about society

Society thwarts the manhood of every man.

Through its mass institutions, society creates rules that enforce uniform behavior and social obedience.

Sure, a minimum amount of order is required for any civilized society to function properly. However, the great danger for men is to get comfortable and forget to seek opportunities to grow.

Real men don't let life happen to them. They proactively -- sometimes, even savagely -- seek to experience, understand and finally master life. In all its various manifestations.

As the French proverb says, "La vie, c'est fait pour vivre." (Life is for living).

Count of Monte Cristo

Click HERE to see a deeply moving music video summarizing the tragic story of a man wronged by society. Young Edmond, naive and green, has high hopes for his future as he is promoted captain of a ship. He is also engaged to a breathtakingly beautiful woman.

However, Fate has other plans for him. Betrayed by friends, he is thrown in jail and what may be even worse, into the very depths of despair. Luckily for him, he finds a wise man in prison who teaches him the ways of the world and how to think like the elite.

After he escapes from jail, he assumes a new identity -- Count of Monte Cristo -- and seeks vengeance.

I like this movie / story (by Alexandre Dumas) not for the vengeance part, but for the lesson it imparts: that knowledge is power, and that a man must seek power and control it, and use it for good.

Welcome!

This portal is an amazing idea! It's an open-source portal where men can contribute resources, ideas, tools, etc. and where they can also download tons of empowering tools, ideas, resources to continuously improve themselves, their lives and the community they live in.

Cool, ain't it!?

To be honest, I had one cup of coffee too many today, so that's how this portal idea was born... I have absolutely NO IDEA how it will evolve or how I will make it happen, but as usual, I'll figure a way and you will be AMAZED at the result!

So bookmark this page and come back often!

Drop me a line anytime, bro! :-)
